Protecting Our Environment

Premier Scottsdale Pet Care is not only concerned with the care of your pets, but also with our environment.  Our boarding facility uses solar power to provide the facility with 30% of its energy, and we use an old-fashioned reel mower to cut the grass.  We allow the clippings to remain on the lawn to provide the soil with nutrients.  Our yard features St. Augustine grass, which uses less water, does not require fertilizer or scalping. 

That’s not all. We have our own doggie compost on the property so that the dog waste does not go into the municipal landfill.  We use organic pest control to ensure only products that are safe for pets and the environment are used both inside the home and throughout the property.  There is an organic garden on the premises of the boarding facility, where we make our own compost (separate from the doggie compost) to provide the garden with all of its nutrients. Additionally, we only use 100% recycled paper in our office, print materials using both sides of the page, and we actively participate in recycling through both weekly curbside pickup and biannual recycling of all electronics.  (We will even recycle your old electronics.)

 Our Unique Boarding Facility

Our boarding facility is known as Casa Tranquila, or Peaceful Home.  You will feel welcomed from the moment you enter.  Located in Scottsdale Ranch, our facility is actually the home of one of our sitters, and is situated on a quarter of an acre with practically the entire yard located in the back of the property.  The over 2,000 square foot home, while beautifully decorated, is designed to be very dog friendly. We do not use dog-runs or cages (unless requested) and dogs may even get on the furniture (if you allow.) The facility has a pool and even a pond complete with a stream and a waterfall.  Dogs that steer clear of the pool often enjoy the pond, where they can lie in the stream to cool their bellies, or wade into the pond to try to catch the fish swimming beneath them or retrieve a toy.  Block walls surround the facility for added security, and the gates keep your pet safe. 

When your dogs stay with us, they will be greeted by our friendly and well-mannered Australian Shepherd who enjoys making new “friends,” both large and small. Dogs weighing as little as three pounds and dogs weighing up to almost 200 pounds have thoroughly enjoyed their stayed with us. 

Concerned about your dog interacting with other dogs? Don’t worry. We always make individual doggie introductions before placing your dogs with any others, and we are able to divide the home with gates in the event some dogs do not get along with each other.  Your dogs will have lots of time to interact, play and receive personal attention - both day and night.
